Semi-finals day at the 2026 WTA HSBC Championship started with the outstanding quarter-final match between Emma Raducanu (GBR) and Kamilla Rakhimova (UZB) which was not able to be played on Friday. Whilst the first set began going with serve the Trooping the Colour fly past overhead caused a pause in play during the fifth game. Emma went on to win the next three games and then closed the first set 6-3.
Raducanu started the second set strong winning the first two games comfortably. At 3-1 up Raducanu slipped returning a groundstroke and following that game Raducanu called the physio and left court for a 3-minute medical time out. Raducanu returned to court with a heavily strapped left thigh and initially found it hard to regain rhythm and lost her service game which levelled the second set score to 3-3. The set progressed with Raducanu choosing to remove the thigh strapping as her movement improved and at 6-5 Raducanu served for the match. Raducanu won 6-3 / 7-5 to reach the semi-final.
The first semi-final was Katie Boulter (GBR) vs Donna Vekic (CRO). In the opening set Boulter struggled find the form she had in her quarter-final match, which led to Vekic taking the first set 6-1. The second set showed strong rallies between the both players however an early break pushed Vekic in front. At 5-3 it was down to Boulter to serve to stay in the set and the match. The crowd were on the edge of their seats, fingers crossed for Boulter, but sadly Boulter wasn’t able to conjure the magic for a second day running. Vekic won 6-1 / 6-3.
The second semi-final saw Emma Raducanu (GBR) return to the Andy Murray Arena for the second time in a day to take on number six seed Iva Jovic (USA). Raducanu served first confidently won her service game. Raducanu kept strong and broke the Jovic serve in the fourth game to led 3-1. When Raducanu was leading 4-1 Jovic called a medical time out for a physio to remove and redress an ankle strapping. Raducanu went on to win the first set 6-2.
Raducanu served to open the second set and Jovic struggled with confidence in her opening service game of the send set which saw Raducanu break for a 2-0 lead. The third game saw Jovic dig deep to break back for the match to go back to serve. The fight continued and Raducanu was shortly 4-1 up in the second set. Some strong rallies were played over the next 2 games as each player fought to win. Raducanu prevailed to win the match 6-2 / 6-2.
Following a great day of tennis Emma Raducanu (GBR) will play Donna Vekic (CRO) on Sunday 14 June @ 1.15pm for the chance to become the 2026 Ladies Singles HSBC Champion.
